Holistic Health

Caring for body, mind, spirit, and connection

Holistic health simply means looking at the whole person — body, mind, spirit, and relationships — rather than one piece at a time. Caregivers already know this well, because they see the whole of someone they love every day.

The same view applies to you. Sleep, movement, friendship, faith or meaning, laughter, and your own medical check-ups all belong on the list.

Holistic practices work best alongside regular medical care, not in place of it. Keep your own appointments, and talk with your healthcare team about anything new you'd like to try.

Gentle ideas to try

  • Check in with yourself: body, mind, spirit, and connection.
  • Keep your own doctor and dental appointments on the calendar.
  • Protect one small thing each week that brings you joy.
  • Stay connected — a short call with a friend counts.

Welcome to the Caregiver's Kettle. Today, we look at holistic health, the care of the whole person.

You already see the whole of the person you care for. Their body, their moods, their spirit, and the people they love. Today, we turn that same gentle attention toward you.

How is your body? Your rest? Your heart? Who have you talked to lately, just for the joy of it?

Holistic care works best alongside your regular medical care, so please keep your own appointments too.

You are a whole person, not only a caregiver. May you find one small way this week to care for all of you. The kettle is always on, here on Timeless Pulse Television.
